Pastor Anthony & Sister Madalene Williams Elder Anthony Williams was born in Anniston, Alabama. He is married to Madalene Williams and is the father of two daughters, Ischia Williams and Katrich (Gregory) Hale.  Elder Williams has two granddaughters, Taya Clay and Kamiya Hale.  

Elder Williams was licensed at his home church, New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Chattanooga, and ordained at the Main Street Baptist Church, in Lexington, Kentucky, by his pastor, Elder G. M. Spotts. Elder Williams is a product of the Chattanooga Public School System, graduating from Brainerd High School.

Elder Williams enlisted in the United States Navy after graduating high school, serving aboard the USS Semmes (DDG-14), home port, Charleston, South Carolina. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, Elder Williams was employed by the Chattanooga Fire Department, retiring after 26 years of service.

Elder Williams previously pastored First Missionary Baptist Church of Bridgeport, Alabama, until he was called and sent to pastor the Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Chattanooga, TN.

Elder Williams is a servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Elder Williams has a heart for God’s people, and he is blessed and honored to serve as pastor.




Associate Minister

Elder Dara Ison

Minister Dara “DaWayne” Ison was born in Chattanooga, TN. He is married to Toletha Ison. They are the parents of seven children, four sons, Dara Ison II, Deric Ison, Varian Ford, Paris Taylor, and three daughters, Antionette Taylor, Wanda Taylor, and DeShana Clay. Minister Ison has five grandchildren, Erykah Ford, Marshall Ford, Varian Ford, Nuri Taylor, and Seven Tate.

Minister Ison is a graduate of Kirkman Technical High School, class of 1980. After graduating high school, Minister Ison enlisted in the United States Army. After 20 years of service, Minister Ison was medically discharged from the United States Army. Minister Ison is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, receiving a  Bachelor of Science degree in Religion with a minor in Christian counseling.

Minister Ison was ordained October 14, 2018, at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church by his pastor, friend, and mentor, Elder Anthony Williams. Minister Ison continues to serve and grow under the leadership of Elder Williams as the associate minister of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

Minister Ison is a faithful servant of God.

December 17, 2023, Minister Dara Ison was officially ordained as Elder Dara Ison.
